Job Summary and role description

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working on site in Plymouth, supporting them in delivering this important Royal Navy redevelopment project. Your day to day will include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial reports whilst conducting cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts and variations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Managing procurement processes, evaluating supplier bids and preparing interim and final payment applications.
  • Monitoring project progress, forecasting final costs and identifying potential financial risks.
  • Collaborating with clients, architects, engineers and contractors whilst mentoring junior team members.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering, with professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within the nuclear or defence sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods and cost control techniques, with proficiency in quantity surveying software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
  • Able to meet eligibility criteria including holding a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and having resided in the UK for the past 5 years for security clearance purposes.
