Our client in Middlesbrough (Thornaby-on-Tees) is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their Response Team (Housing Response and Maintenance). They have been an established and leading property services company for over 75 years, based across England and Wales, in over 18 locations and 32 Business Units. Their main customer base is Social Housing and Council/Local Authority, Housing Associations.
Following an internal promotion, they are recruiting a Managing Surveyor for their Middlesbrough-based Commercial team overseeing the Responsive repairs division. You will need strong commercial instincts and influencing skills, enabling you to see the big picture and guide and lead your team. You will also have the opportunity to be hands-on, managing contracts and drilling into the data to ensure effective and profitable operations, all while demonstrating value for money for our clients.
Taking full accountability for the commercial function of the Responsive Repairs and Void (vacant properties) works for their reputable housing clients in and around Middlesbrough, you will work closely with colleagues in their Leeds and Manchester offices, managing, developing, and nurturing a high-performing commercial team of Quantity Surveyors and Trainee Surveyors.
We want to talk to commercially-minded candidates who have experience in Repairs and utilising SOR, who have a track record of managing subcontractors and dealing with dispute resolution, and who share their core values of honesty and integrity. The main criteria is someone with reactive maintenance experience having managed the commercial aspects. SOR (schedule of rate contract) experience and knowledge is a significant advantage.
