Our client are expanding their commercial team out of their Romsey , near Southampton Hampshire office They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can share in this growth ethos. o CVRs/Valuations o Live within easy travelling of Southampton area o Dealing with direct labour and timesheets o Schedules of Rates o Formal qualifications or surveyor training o Any exposure to Painting/ Decorating o Estimating / Measuring and applying rates Ideally they are looking for Quantity Surveyor with experience dealing and working with direct labour teams of people , time sheets etc .
Any background especially in Painting, brickwork or plastering or roofing , or new builds in terms of QS would work for this role along with tendering , estimating and refurbishments but dealing and working with direct teams is a big tick .

We can offer a variety of works including established frameworks and core contracts with prestigious clients within the public, and residential sector as well as our services covering into the retirement living, commercial and education sectors too.
Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks.
Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset.
Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity labour targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives where possible.
Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site, ensuring it has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance expectations, budgets, value, progress, quality, and safety) What will you bring as Quantity Surveyor?
You will be inquisitive, organised, and honest as well as being a genuine people person who thrives when collaborating with clients, trade teams and immediate colleagues.

Proven experience in a similar estimating and surveying role.
Experience of the commercial management of projects from tender and estimation stages through to final account.
You will describe yourself as commercial, analytical, and accurate in your approach.
Painting background isn't essential so any background in painting / decorating brickwork or plastering in terms of QS would be very transferrable for this role along with tendering , estimating and refurbishments .
But please mention any aspects of painting and Decorating if you have any exposure to that .
