Our client is expanding their commercial team out of their Maidstone Kent office. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can share in this growth ethos. Honesty, integrity and teamwork will be at the heart of what they do.
Ideally, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with experience dealing and working with direct labour teams, time sheets, etc. Any background, especially in painting, brickwork, plastering, roofing, civils or new builds in terms of QS would work for this role along with tendering, estimating and refurbishments. Dealing and working with direct teams is a significant advantage.
They are looking for an enthusiastic, people-focused Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated commercial and operational team, who specialise in painting and decorating and associated planned refurbishment works to the public, private, residential and educational sectors. Painting background isn’t essential, but ideally, they are looking for Quantity Surveyor experience dealing and working with direct labour teams.
They have been an established and leading property services company for over 75 years, based across England and Wales, in over 18 locations and 32 Business Units. They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work as part of their fantastic painting team. The Quantity Surveyor role involves actively tendering, estimating and measuring onsite, as well as liaising with direct labour at the client. They can offer a variety of works including established frameworks and core contracts with prestigious clients within the public and residential sectors, as well as services covering retirement living, commercial and education sectors.
Specifically, you will:
- Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks
- Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity labour targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives where possible
- Build strong client and supplier relations, ensuring any variations and progress of contracts are discussed and mutual solutions are sought
- Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site, ensuring it has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance expectations, budgets, value, progress, quality, and safety)
