Our client is expanding their commercial team out of their long-established Bristol office. As a Quantity Surveyor in Bristol, you will actively tender, estimate and measure onsite. They can offer a variety of works including established frameworks and core contracts with prestigious housing clients within the public and residential sector, as well as their property services covering defence, commercial and education sectors.
The work is varied, and they would be particularly interested to hear from you if you have experience on site, pricing and dealing with direct labour and subcontractors. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can share in this growth ethos. Ideally, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with experience dealing and working with direct labour teams, time sheets, etc. Any background, especially in painting, brickwork, plastering, roofing, or new builds in terms of QS could work for this role along with tendering, estimating and refurbishments, but dealing and working with direct teams is a big tick.
They are looking for an enthusiastic, people-focused Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated commercial and operational team, who specialise in Painting and Decorating and associated planned refurbishment works. A painting background isn't essential, though if you have any experience in that regard in terms of QS in painting, definitely mention that on your CV as it's a big plus.

The Quantity Surveyor role involves:
- Measuring and preparing cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks
- Preparing cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset
- Working closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity labour targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives where possible
- Completing and analysing weekly reporting from site, ensuring it has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance expectations, budgets, value, progress, quality, and safety)
