An opportunity is available for an experienced Technical Systems Engineer to join a high-tech organisation providing managed IT services to established businesses.
This is a varied, customer-focused position involving technical support, infrastructure, system maintenance and hands-on work at client locations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple technologies and taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
The Role

Serve as a technical contact for customers and provide effective solutions to their IT requirements.

Attend customer premises when required to diagnose faults, complete repairs and carry out scheduled maintenance.

Manage support cases and service requests using the company's Service Desk platform.

Keep customers informed throughout the support process in accordance with agreed service levels.

Escalate significant incidents and issues requiring Management intervention.

Review daily priorities and manage your workload to ensure required actions are completed.

Monitor the condition and performance of customer environments and ensure business requirements continue to be met.

Carry out the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance and repair of hardware and software.

Keep technical records, tickets and documentation up to date.

Take ownership of urgent and high-priority incidents, whether handled remotely or on-site.
On Offer:

Salary of Β£30,000 - Β£40,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Applicants should have at least 5 years' experience in a relevant IT role and be confident working with:

Cyber Essentials and GDPR security standards, including implementation and configuration (mandatory).

Microsoft 365 applications and cloud services, particularly Email, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive (mandatory).

Intune, Remote Monitoring and Management platforms and telephone systems.

Network infrastructure including routers, switches, access points, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls and VLANs.

External technology partners and service providers, with the ability to coordinate support where required.

IT industry standards, processes and best-practice procedures.

Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022, including Group Policy and security configuration.

Azure administration and implementation.

Windows 10, Windows 11 and Mac environments.

Different customer builds, imaging and deployment requirements.

Strong customer service skills together with clear written and verbal communication.

Independent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Working effectively within a team while being capable of managing tasks independently.
