What will you do
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will act as a senior technical specialist, working closely with site teams, contractors, suppliers, and engineering colleagues to resolve operational challenges, improve maintenance practices, and implement technical improvements across operating plants. The role creates value by improving plant reliability, maintainability, and operational performance through practical engineering support, technical problem solving, and successful delivery of electrical improvements.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and improve electrical maintenance systems and practices across the UK fleet
- Provide electrical engineering support during planned outages, major maintenance activities, and other critical operational interventions
- Contribute to improvements in plant reliability, maintainability, and operational performance
- Conduct technical surveys, inspections, condition assessments, and investigations to support reliability and maintenance improvements
- Support and deliver electrical upgrade and modification projects across operating plants
- Provide day-to-day electrical technical support to BWSC's UK power plant fleet, including remote troubleshooting, fault finding, inspections, and technical guidance
- Prepare technical specifications, coordinate technical activities with contractors and suppliers, and support implementation of electrical solutions
What do you bring to the field
Preferably, you hold a degree in electrical engineering combined with practical experience from industrial plants, power generation, or similar operational environments. Ideally, you have experience working with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, fault finding, and technical support within operating plants. Experience with LV/MV systems, switchgear, protection systems, generators and transformers. Experience from power plants, utilities, process industry, marine, or offshore environments is highly relevant.
You are a self-starter who takes initiative and works independently. You bring a structured and analytical approach to your work, while maintaining a practical and solution-oriented mindset. You are comfortable working both from the office and on site, and enjoy collaborating with both operational and engineering teams.

What do we offer?

The position is based in our new UK Head Office, The Genesis Centre, Birchwood. Whilst working as a Senior Electrical Engineer at BWSC we offer a competitive starting salary of £75,000 depending on experience, and a great total reward package including:
