We are representing a local Engineering Distribution and Manufacturing business that has been established for over 20 years. We are seeking a commercially driven Management Accountant to take ownership of a new standalone finance role. This is a high-impact position for someone confident, analytical, and strong-willed, with a proven ability to cut costs, challenge inefficiencies, and improve profitability. You will have the backing of the business owners and the opportunity to build a finance team as the company grows further.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis
- Identify overspending, inefficiencies, and margin improvement opportunities
- Drive cost reduction and profitability initiatives across operations
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Improve financial controls, reporting accuracy, and processes
- Analyse product, customer, and operational profitability
- Provide commercial insight to support pricing, purchasing, and investment decisions
- Develop and scale the finance function over time
Skills Required
- Qualified (Preferred) or part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
- Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Distribution preferred
- Strong in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
- Confident, resilient, and comfortable challenging spending and decision-making
- Able to build systems, processes, and structure from scratch
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
