We have an urgent requirement for Platers in Richmond!
Role: Plater - Structural Steel Fabrication
Location: Brompton-on-Swale, North Yorkshire
Sector: Structural Steel Fabrication
Pay & Contract: £17.62 per hour PAYE, 12-week Temp to Perm
Hours & Overtime: Day shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday (40 hours). Saturday overtime: 7:30am-12:30pm, paid at x1.5

Key Responsibilities (Essential):
- Plate structural steel (5-100mm) in a production environment
- Carry out heat straightening and work from engineering drawings
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely
- Use grinders and consumables in line with HAVS regulations
- Work to production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Follow HSEQ requirements and safe operating procedures
Skills & Experience Required (Essential):
- Time-served Plater or equivalent qualification (trade test required)
- City & Guilds / NVQ in Structural Steel Plating
- Experience in structural steel / heavy engineering
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and plating standards
- Competent with overhead cranes and slinging techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good health & safety awareness and ability to work under time constraints
