Welding, NDT & Coatings Inspector

An exciting opportunity for a Welding, NDT & Coatings Inspector in the Quality Department has arisen. The role, based in Chester, involves close collaboration with external suppliers and internal quality and production teams. The primary focus is to ensure the delivery of conforming products through anticipatory, monitoring, and improvement actions with suppliers.

This role is ideal for individuals with in-depth knowledge in technical fields such as mechanics, welding, materials, and control, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates with strong interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in the nuclear or oil & gas industry will thrive in this dynamic position.

You must hold a CSWIP 3.1, PCN Level 2 PT & MPI, and a Painting/Coatings certificate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct raw material inspections on-site and at supplier locations.
  • Perform welding, NDT, and Painting/Coatings inspections as needed.
  • Generate and review documentation, procedures, and release certificates.
  • Review Life-Time Quality Records (LTQRs)
  • Ensure compliance of controlling documents at all manufacturing stages.

Requirements

  • CSWIP 3.1
  • PCN Level 2 in Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT / MPI)
  • Painting & Coating certification – BGAS, CIP, ICORR, NACE or similar
  • Experience within Nuclear or MOD highly advantageous.
  • Experience with Life-Time Quality Records (LTQRs) preferred
