Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe workplace, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to fostering a culture of safety and quality.

The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH Diploma and significant experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement are essential to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and well-organised work environment, reducing risks and maintaining high H&S standards.
- Manage and develop the SHEQ Officer (1 x direct report) and SHEQ BSi systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Oversee quality control processes, laboratory facilities, and compliance with relevant certifications.
- Support product and process development, ensuring smooth transitions from pilot to full-scale production.
- Maintain effective communication with senior management, reporting on SHEQ performance and improvement plans.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in lead SHEQ role for a Processing /Manufacturing site such as Chemicals, Food, Pharmaceuticals or similar.
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards – ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- HACCP experience desirable
- COMAH site experience desirable
- Strong communication skills
Location – Glossop
Salary – circa £50k – £55k (dependent on experience).
Permanent – Full Time – 0800-1700 (Mon-Fri) Flexi-working
