A respected and established steel fabrication company is seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in steelwork and hands-on fabrication knowledge. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in estimating and selling within the structural and secondary steelwork sectors, with knowledge of CE marking standards up to EXC4.
This role would suit a time-served fabricator or welder who has progressed into estimating. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of fabrication techniques, practical site challenges, and a commercial mindset. You’ll be confident speaking with clients, understanding their technical needs, and translating them into accurate, profitable quotations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate estimates and quotes for steel fabrication projects
- Engage with clients and provide technical advice and sales support
- Assess drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world constraints
- Ensure compliance with CE marking standards up to and including EXC4
- Proven experience as an Estimator in Manufacturing
- Background in Welding or Fabrication, or minimum strong knowledge in these areas
- Knowledge of CE Marking standards (EXC4)
- Strong IT and Maths skills
