We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established controls team, supporting projects from initial enquiry and concept development through to detailed design in the heavy machinery sector. The role is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to UK sites as needed to support project delivery. This role would be ideal for a detail-oriented and highly organised individual with a solid background in electrical engineering and a strong working knowledge of control panel design. It would particularly suit someone who enjoys a structured environment, values technical accuracy, and thrives in a team where collaboration with contractors and clients is key.
Key Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive electrical designs using AutoCAD, including schematics, general arrangements, single line diagrams, and cable schedules.
- Develop engineered solutions from specifications under the supervision of the Electrical Contract Manager.
- Monitor and report design progress and forecasts to project managers.
- Attend client and subcontractor meetings, providing technical support throughout project phases.
- Prepare Factory Acceptance Testing documentation and attend tests at manufacturing sites.
In return you'll receive a salary up to £65k, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Private Health, and a pension matched up to 4.5%.
