An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to join a dynamic organisation, playing a key role in managing procurement activities and ensuring an efficient supply chain. The role involves monitoring supplier performance, placing and expediting purchase orders, and supporting key business objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing: You will purchase a variety of materials and fabricated parts as part of a project driven manufacturing business. This includes stainless steel, plastics, fabricated parts, and electronics.
  • Procurement Management: Process and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance within required timeframes.
  • Supplier Coordination: Monitor supplier performance, expedite orders as necessary, and resolve any supply chain disruptions to ensure continuity.
  • Project Support: Lead and support supply chain projects focused on cost reduction, supplier development, and process improvements.
  • Facilities Procurement: Oversee the purchasing of goods and services for facilities management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality service.
  • Logistics Management: Arrange and manage purchase orders for logistics and transportation, coordinating with partners to optimise costs and delivery schedules.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience within Purchasing / Procurement / Supply Chain for a Manufacturing or Engineering business.
  • CIPS qualified or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience purchasing fabrication commodities / categories desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards is desirable – ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
  • Strong ERP / MRP systems experience.

Location: Stockport

Salary: circa £32k - £38k (dependent on experience).

Benefits: 5% Employer Pension + Employee contributions, Holidays & more!

Permanent: Hybrid working – 0800-1630 Mon-Fri (earlier finish Fri).
