ES Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder / Mechanical Fitter to join a major shutdown project for our client, at a food manufacturing facility in Wakefield. This is a 10-day contract working on the removal and installation of industrial process equipment, with excellent hourly rates, overtime available and lodge allowance for travelling candidates.

The Role

  • Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you'll be responsible for both high-quality TIG welding and assisting with the mechanical removal and installation of new machinery.
  • Duties include:
    • TIG welding 2mm stainless steel pipework
    • Welding approximately 130mm OD stainless pipe
    • Final welding of flanged pipework, elbows and powder conveying systems
    • Assisting with the removal of two existing roller mills
    • Helping install two new roller mills and associated equipment
    • Working safely within a food manufacturing environment
  • All tack welding will be completed by the site supervisor - you'll be responsible for the final welds.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven TIG welding experience on stainless steel
  • Experience working on industrial shutdowns or installation projects
  • Happy to work as both a TIG Welder and Mechanical Fitter
  • Able to work from engineering drawings
  • Own hand tools
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • No coding certificates required.

Pay & Benefits

  • £30.00 per hour (CIS / Limited Company)
  • Time and a Half for overtime and weekend working
  • 10-hour shifts with additional hours available
  • £45 per night lodge allowance if accommodation is required
  • Specialist equipment provided
  • On-site parking
  • Site induction provided
