ES Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder / Mechanical Fitter to join a major shutdown project for our client, at a food manufacturing facility in Wakefield. This is a 10-day contract working on the removal and installation of industrial process equipment, with excellent hourly rates, overtime available and lodge allowance for travelling candidates.
The Role
- Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you'll be responsible for both high-quality TIG welding and assisting with the mechanical removal and installation of new machinery.
- Duties include:
- TIG welding 2mm stainless steel pipework
- Welding approximately 130mm OD stainless pipe
- Final welding of flanged pipework, elbows and powder conveying systems
- Assisting with the removal of two existing roller mills
- Helping install two new roller mills and associated equipment
- Working safely within a food manufacturing environment
- All tack welding will be completed by the site supervisor - you'll be responsible for the final welds.
What We're Looking For
- Proven TIG welding experience on stainless steel
- Experience working on industrial shutdowns or installation projects
- Happy to work as both a TIG Welder and Mechanical Fitter
- Able to work from engineering drawings
- Own hand tools
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- No coding certificates required.
Pay & Benefits
- £30.00 per hour (CIS / Limited Company)
- Time and a Half for overtime and weekend working
- 10-hour shifts with additional hours available
- £45 per night lodge allowance if accommodation is required
- Specialist equipment provided
- On-site parking
