This role involves leading the design, development and lifecycle support of complex electronic systems used in defence, aerospace and space applications. Working within a growing engineering team, you will combine hands-on hardware design with technical leadership, ensuring solutions are robust, compliant and manufacturable while supporting delivery of high-reliability, mission-critical products.
Who this role would suit
This role would suit a degree-qualified Electronics Engineer with strong hardware design experience who enjoys both technical delivery and team collaboration. You will be comfortable working in an open-plan, team-focused environment, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to complex projects. Experience in RF and/or FPGA would be highly beneficial, particularly from defence, aerospace or similarly regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electronic systems (analogue, digital, RF and embedded hardware)
- Produce specifications, schematics and design documentation using tools such as Altium
- Support project delivery including planning, risk management and stakeholder communication
- Collaborate with mechanical, production and commercial teams to ensure successful product delivery
- Mentor and support a small team of engineers, promoting best practice and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience within Electronic Design
- Degree qualified OR equivalent experience.
- SC Cleared - or eligibility to obtain security clearance
- Knowledge of RF - Radio Frequency. FPGA knowledge desirable - Field Programmable Gate Array
- Experience with Electronic hardware projects highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and ability to mentor or coach people
Permanent Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience).
Location: Morecambe
Working Hours: 8am - 4pm, Mon-Fri (early finish Fri), flexible hours, and Hybrid working
