Our client is a leading company specialising in the heat treatment of steel & non-ferrous parts for the Aerospace and Engineering industries. We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join a small team involved in servicing and maintaining a range of heat treatment furnaces and associated plant. Based in Bury BL9.
Candidate Requirements:
- A strong Mechanical Engineering background, experienced and qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
- The ability to carry out preventative maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment.
- Possess excellent diagnostic skills to diagnose the causes and rectification of breakdowns.
Skills/Qualifications:
- General mechanical/maintenance skills; including welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, replacing bearings, transmission systems including pulleys and belts.
- Pumps and Motor experience.
- Good computer literacy skills.
- Good communication skills, liaising with client departments.
Expected Duties:
- Working within the Engineering Department to carry out regular servicing and maintenance of thermal processing equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns to evaluate and rectify plant issues.
- Complete required documentation for the Engineering System.
- Follow predefined procedures to ensure continued safe/efficient operation of all equipment.
- Carry out required training to confidently complete tasks for maintenance activities.
- Ensure designated tasks are completed within the scheduled time.
- Assisting with project work such as installation and commissioning of new equipment, plant improvements and upgrades.
- Monitor stock levels and re-order as required.
- Respond to breakdown out of hours situations.
