Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum + Overtime + Company Van + Expenses Paid

Are you hands-on, mechanically minded and looking for a varied role that combines workshop assembly with nationwide installation work? We are looking for a Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business, assembling specialist equipment in our Manchester facility before travelling to customer sites across the UK for installation and servicing.

The Role

Based primarily in Trafford Park, you'll be involved in assembling products, carrying out quality checks and preparing equipment for installation. You'll also travel to customer sites across the UK to install, service and maintain specialist engineering equipment. This is a varied role offering a mix of workshop and field-based work, with overnight stays required on occasion. All travel, accommodation and expenses are fully covered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble engineering products and components in the workshop.
  • Carry out general warehouse duties and stock handling.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Install equipment at customer sites across the UK.
  • Complete first and second fix installations.
  • Support service work including maintenance and component replacements.
  • Carry out quality inspections.
  • Load and unload company vehicles.
  • Operate forklifts where required (training/licence advantageous).
  • Maintain a professional approach when representing the business on customer sites.

What We're Looking For

  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Engineering, mechanical or installation experience.
  • Confident using hand and power tools.
  • Able to read technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away overnight when required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • CSCS Card
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • Forklift Truck Licence
  • Ductwork or ventilation installation experience

These qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

Hours

  • Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Overtime available
  • Working away hours will differ
  • Weekend work available by agreement
