Mechanical Fitter – Rotating Machinery
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a leading engineering manufacturer specialising in rotating machinery for the rubber mixing industry.
The role involves shift working with generous shift premiums and offers excellent earning potential and long-term career development within a well-established machine manufacturer.
Who this job would suit
This role would be ideal for time-served Mechanical Fitters with NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent who have experience working with rotating machinery or are eager to develop within a specialist engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly and fitting of rotating machinery, including Banbury mixers and pelletisers
- Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics
- Fit, align, and test mechanical components including hydraulics and pneumatics
- Perform fault-finding and maintenance on specialist equipment
- Travel occasionally for out-working or short-term overseas assignments

Shift patterns: (Alternating weekly Shift A and B)
Shift A Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 15:45
Shift B Monday to Thursday 15:30 to 01:15
Shift B (option 2) Monday to Thursday 15:30 to 00:00, Friday 10:00 to 15:00
Salary
OTE up to 50,000 including shift allowances and required overtime. Overtime paid at premium rates.
- 20% shift premium (Shift A) = 20.71 per hour
- 30% shift premium (Shift B) = 22.43 per hour
