Mechanical Fitter – Rotating Machinery This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a leading engineering manufacturer specialising in rotating machinery for the rubber mixing industry. The role involves shift working with generous shift premiums and offers excellent earning potential and long-term career development within a well-established machine manufacturer. Who this job would suit This role would be ideal for time-served Mechanical Fitters with NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent who have experience working with rotating machinery or are eager to develop within a specialist engineering environment. It would particularly suit hands-on engineers looking for flexible shift-based work with structured training and future development opportunities. Key Responsibilities Mechanical assembly and fitting of rotating machinery, including Banbury mixers and pelletisers Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics Fit, align, and test mechanical components including hydraulics and pneumatics Perform fault-finding and maintenance on specialist equipment Travel occasionally for out-working or short-term overseas assignments Benefits Fully paid lunch breaks 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) Matched pension contributions (5.5% employee / 5.5% employer) Sick pay (3 months full pay, 3 months half pay) Death in service benefit Shift patterns: (Alternating weekly Shift A and B) Shift A Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 15:45 Shift B Monday to Thursday 15:30 to 01:15 Shift B (option 2) Monday to Thursday 15:30 to 00:00, Friday 10:00 to 15:00 Salary OTE up to £50,000 including shift allowances and required overtime.
