Pay: £24.84 per hour PAYE / £48,438 basic salary

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00am -3:30pm | Friday 07:00am -12:30pm

Overtime: Overtime rates available

Are you an experienced TIG Pipe Welder, Coded Welder or TIG Welder looking for a permanent position with excellent earning potential? We are recruiting experienced TIG Pipe Welders to join a specialist fabrication facility in Deeside, producing high-integrity stainless and carbon steel pipework for the Sizewell C nuclear project. Due to the award of a major 4-year contract, additional permanent positions are now available.

The TIG Pipe Welder Role:

You will be working within a purpose-built fabrication facility, welding stainless steel and carbon steel pipework to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Production welding is primarily carried out in the PA (1G) rotated position, producing high-quality pipe welds for visual inspection and NDT.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong TIG pipe welding experience
  • Experience welding stainless steel and carbon steel pipe
  • Experience with pipe sizes from 2" to 6"
  • Ability to work to WPS
  • Previous coded welding experience or the ability to pass coding qualifications
  • Experience producing welds suitable for NDT
  • Experience welding in the PA / 1G rotated position
  • High standards of weld quality and attention to detail

Experience within Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food Manufacturing or other regulated engineering environments would be particularly advantageous. Candidates must also be willing to undergo the required criminal record and security screening.

Weld Test:

Successful applicants will complete a practical weld test consisting of:

  • 6G TIG weld test
  • 2" stainless steel pipe butt weld
  • WPS provided on the day

Please note: The recruitment weld test is completed in the 6G position, but day-to-day production welding is primarily completed in the PA (1G) rotated position.
