A permanent position for experienced Pipe Welders has arisen in a modern, fully digital manufacturing facility in Deeside, working on high-integrity stainless and carbon steel pipework for a major engineering project.

You will be joining a skilled team in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment, producing high-quality pipe spools to exacting industry standards.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for welding stainless and carbon steel pipework throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring all work meets strict quality and safety standards. Duties include:

  • TIG welding stainless and carbon steel pipework
  • Working on pipe sizes from 2" up to 20" diameter
  • Production welding in the PA (1G) rotated position
  • Working to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
  • Producing welds for visual inspection and NDT
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, productivity and safety
  • Working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment

Future opportunities may also include FCAW welding and automated welding processes.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for experienced TIG Pipe Welders who take pride in producing quality workmanship. You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven TIG welding experience on stainless steel pipework
  • Experience welding pipe sizes from 2"-6" (larger diameter experience advantageous)
  • Previous coded welder experience or the ability to pass welding qualifications
  • Experience working within nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, food, chemical or other highly regulated industries
  • A strong quality mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and basic computer literacy
  • The ability to work effectively within a busy production team

Weld Test

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will complete a practical weld test:

  • 6G TIG weld test 2" stainless steel pipe
  • Test is designed to assess welding skill and competency
  • Weld Procedure Specification (WPS) will be provided on the day

Although the weld test is carried out in the 6G position, production welding is primarily completed in the PA (1G) rotated position.
