We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s largest and most respected Defence organisations, and we’re looking for experienced CNC Machinists to join their heavy machine shop team. If you’re confident working with large-scale CNC machinery and take pride in precision engineering, this is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term, well-paid contract.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery in a heavy engineering environment, working on large, complex components to exacting standards. Key duties include:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accuracy of machined parts
- Setting and operating large gantry-based CNC machines
- Retrieving and inputting CNC programs in line with job documentation
- Measuring and inspecting components using precision instruments (micrometres, verniers, etc.)
- Ensuring all work meets strict quality and specification standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a heavy machine shop environment
- Strong CNC setting and operating skills
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and quality control
Shift Pattern
12-hour shifts Rotating pattern: 4 on / 5 off / 5 on / 4 off
