We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering business delivering complex projects within the nuclear sector. This role will lead and supervise multidisciplinary engineering design activities, providing technical oversight and ensuring compliant, high‑quality engineering solutions are delivered safely and efficiently across the full project lifecycle. This position would suit a senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong nuclear background who enjoys leading technical teams and solving complex engineering challenges. It will appeal to someone with strong calculation experience, a solid understanding of engineering compliance and extensive experience using Autodesk Inventor within regulated engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise mechanical engineering design teams across complex project delivery activities
  • Produce and review engineering calculations, design documentation and technical deliverables
  • Provide technical oversight and ensure engineering solutions comply with nuclear and conventional safety standards
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and support technical issue resolution throughout manufacture and installation
  • Undertake design reviews, verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and engineering standards
