Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a leading manufacturing business with excellent earning potential, modern equipment and genuine long-term career development? Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team on a permanent basis.
With a basic salary of £40,000 per annum, regular overtime is readily available every week, giving realistic earnings of £49,000+ per year.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of production machinery and automated manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment.
- Respond quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Fault find and repair PLC-controlled machinery.
- Maintain, fault find and repair welding robots and automated production equipment.
- Support the installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of new machinery.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
- Diagnose faults on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carry out root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high engineering standard.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the engineering department.
What We're Looking For
- Completed Engineering Apprenticeship (Essential)
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- Mechanical maintenance experience
- PLC fault finding experience
- Experience maintaining automated production machinery
- Experience with robotics, welding robots or automated manufacturing equipment would be highly advantageous
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
