ES Recruit are recruiting for a Semiskilled Engineer to join an established manufacturing business. This is a varied, hands-on position working within the production/shop floor team, supporting day-to-day manufacturing activities and helping to maintain high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
Who the role would suit:
This role would suit someone with a basic engineering or manufacturing background who is comfortable using workshop machinery and hand tools. You should have a practical, proactive approach, be able to work from technical drawings and be happy carrying out a variety of duties across the shop floor. A City & Guilds Level 1 or 2 in Engineering would be beneficial, along with a basic understanding of mechanical assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating drills, bandsaws and welding equipment
- Carrying out machine cleaning and general factory maintenance tasks
- Supporting basic mechanical and assembly work
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Liaising with supervisors to understand production requirements
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Manual handling of materials and components up to 25kg
- Supporting continuous improvement across the production department
- Ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards
Salary: £30,000
Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm / Friday 7:30am - 11:30am
Holidays: 33 days
