We are recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Driver / Stores Assistant to join a busy engineering/manufacturing environment. This is a varied, hands-on position combining driving and delivery duties with stores and warehouse responsibilities. The role offers an excellent four-day working week and the opportunity to secure a permanent position following the initial 12-week period.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving a company pickup or van to collect and deliver parts, materials and equipment
- Completing local and regional deliveries
- Supporting the stores and spares department when not driving
- Receiving and processing incoming goods
- Picking, packing and preparing parts for dispatch
- Loading and unloading company vehicles
- Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records
- Keeping the stores area clean, safe and organised
- Carrying out routine vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Following all company health and safety procedures
Skills & Experience
- Essential: Full UK Driving Licence - clean licence preferred
- Must be aged 25+ for company vehicle insurance
- Previous driving, stores, warehouse or logistics experience
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable with excellent attendance and timekeeping
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Desirable: Experience within engineering, manufacturing or an industrial environment
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Experience using stock control or inventory systems
