A Sustainability Manager is required to lead and drive sustainability strategy across a major decommissioning and civil engineering project in a highly regulated environment. The role focuses on embedding sustainable practices, reducing environmental impact, and supporting delivery teams to achieve carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and wider ESG objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the project sustainability strategy, aligning with wider business and client objectives
  • Drive carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and circular economy initiatives across the project
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, sustainability targets, and project requirements
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on sustainability performance, including ESG metrics
  • Engage with stakeholders, site teams, and supply chain to embed sustainable practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior sustainability or environmental role
  • Degree qualified in Environmental, Sustainability, or related discipline
  • Experience within construction, nuclear, infrastructure, or similar sectors
  • Strong understanding of carbon management and sustainability frameworks

Location: Whitehaven
Permanent Full Time, 40 hrs
Salary: circa £60k + £5.7k car allowance
