This position offers the opportunity to provide vital engineering support within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the successful delivery of complex and highly regulated projects. Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the Senior Stress Engineer ensures that all design analyses are technically sound, cost-effective, and delivered to schedule and quality standards.
This role would suit a highly analytical engineer with strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to design and analysis. It is ideal for someone experienced in stress analysis within a regulated sector, who thrives on technical challenges, collaborative teamwork, and influencing designs from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct hand calculations and finite element (FE) analyses to validate and optimise engineering designs.
- Produce, review and verify design analysis documentation in line with project and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the internal point of contact for structural analysis, coordinating with internal teams and subcontractors.
- Advise design engineers on structural integrity, manufacturability and cost-reduction improvements.
- Support project scheduling, reporting and delivery to ensure technical objectives are achieved efficiently.
- Proven experience in Stress Engineering / Stress Analysis position for highly regulated sector such as Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, etc.
- Experience with ANSYS systems highly desirable.
- Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of LS-DYNA systems desirable but not essential.
Location: Winchester
Hybrid working: Fully on-site during 3 month probation, before moving to Hybrid model
Permanent: Full time - Flexible hours - Monday - Friday
