We are seeking a Process Safety Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance while driving a culture of commitment-based process safety. This dynamic position involves managing Process Safety Management (PSM) processes, influencing HSE policies, and implementing improvement initiatives. The role is crucial to achieving organisational and regulatory safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific processes and procedures for Process Safety Management (PSM) while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide expert advice and coaching to line management to build capability and deepen understanding of PSM.
- Lead the delivery of HSE and PSM policies, fostering a culture of safety and hazard management.
- Act as a role model to drive the transition from compliance-based to commitment-based safety practices.
- Participate in cross-functional forums and initiatives to share knowledge and benchmark best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Process Safety Engineer.
- Experience with HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Risk assessments, Management of Change (MoC), Root Cause Analysis, Process improvement & more.
- Familiar with Chemical Manufacturing environment - COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX.
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline.
- Any knowledge of Electrical engineering, and Electrical safety is advantageous.
Location: Blackburn
Permanent Salary: c £48k - £65k (dependent on experience) + Benefits.
Working hours: 0800 - 1700, Monday - Thursday, 0800 - 1500 Friday, 39hrs
Benefits: 35 days holiday (inclusive of BH), pension, free lunches, free on-site parking.
