We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering business delivering complex projects within the nuclear sector. This role will lead and supervise multidisciplinary engineering design activities, providing technical oversight and ensuring compliant, high-quality engineering solutions are delivered safely and efficiently across the full project lifecycle.
This position would suit a senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong nuclear background who enjoys leading technical teams and solving complex engineering challenges. It will appeal to someone with strong calculation experience, a solid understanding of engineering compliance and extensive experience using Autodesk Inventor within regulated engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise mechanical engineering design teams across complex project delivery activities
- Produce and review engineering calculations, design documentation and technical deliverables
- Provide technical oversight and ensure engineering solutions comply with nuclear and conventional safety standards
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and support technical issue resolution throughout manufacture and installation
- Undertake design reviews, verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and engineering standards
In return you'll receive a contract rate up to £63/hour (Ltd company), with hybrid working split across 2 days onsite and 2 days remote.
