The ideal candidate will hold an HND (5+ years' experience) or BEng (3+ years' experience) in Engineering, with strong expertise in industrial sheet/steel fabrication and proficiency in Autodesk 3D Inventor, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Vault. A solid understanding of steel manufacturing processes, along with knowledge of BS 8888 and the ability to produce Designer's Risk Assessments, and strong communication skills are also desirable.
Primary ResponsibilitiesAs a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Producing 3D models and General Arrangement drawings in accordance with company procedures and customer specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with product assurance limitations and considering all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Conducting Designer's Risk Assessments to identify and mitigate health and safety risks in designs.
- Collaborating with analysis engineers to ensure accurate reflection of theoretical analysis in designs.
- Participating in design and manufacturability reviews, effectively communicating design intent to the project team.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance departmental design capabilities.
