Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours/Terms: 30 to 40 hours per week

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in various areas of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure your team is motivated, capable, well trained and efficient to ensure targets and high standards are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping related to staff, monitoring of health and safety through PPE checks, hazard awareness and monitoring best practice.
  • Monitor quality and efficiency standards, rectifying issues where possible and notifying Line Manager of any issues that need escalating.
  • Monitor stock levels, material supply and material utilization using SAP system, if required.
  • Inspect all areas of work on a daily basis identifying any areas requiring specific attention and act accordingly.
  • Lead the team by example, making sure all the team follows correct PPE and food safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a unionized and/or food manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
  • Experience supervising a team of up to 40 employees.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar systems.
  • Strong knowledge on KPI’s, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Quality, HACCP, Waste Rate and Run Rates.
  • Sound knowledge in OH&S systems.
  • Excellent leadership, change management, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts - typically 2 weeks days and 2 weeks afternoons.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and the leadership team.
