Pepper & Thyme is looking for a reliable, friendly, and hardworking Market Helper to support us during the 2026 farmers market season.

Location: Ancaster Farmers Market and Burlington Centre Lions Farmers Market

Schedule: Seasonal, part-time

Pay: $18.50/hour plus a meal perk during each shift

Market Dates and Times

  • Ancaster Farmers Market – Wednesdays, June 3 to October 7, 2026. Market Hours: 3:00 PM–7:00 PM. Estimated Shift Time: 1:30 PM–8:00 PM. Includes setup before the market and tear-down after closing.
  • Burlington Centre Lions Farmers Market – Fridays, May 22 to October 23, 2026. Market Hours: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM. Estimated Shift Time: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM. Includes setup before the market and tear-down after closing.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers and providing friendly service
  • Taking orders and processing payments
  • Helping package and serve food items
  • Restocking products and keeping the booth organized
  • Supporting setup and tear-down of tables, signage, displays, and equipment
  • Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Answering basic customer questions about menu items and ingredients
  • Assisting with light lifting, carrying, and market-day tasks as needed

Ideal Candidate

  • Friendly, reliable, and punctual
  • Comfortable speaking with customers
  • Able to work in a busy market environment
  • Able to stand for several hours
  • Able to lift and carry light to moderate items
  • Food service or customer service experience is an asset
  • Food Handler Certification is an asset but not required
  • Must be available for some Wednesdays and/or Fridays during the market season
