Job purpose:

To lead an effective support function to provide support and advice to the Board and its Committees, to ensure effective governance. To assist in the delivery of a robust governance framework for the Housing Executive to ensure that it continues to meet its core objective.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent Level 6* qualification.

* Refer to Qualifications Framework for equivalencies

  • 2. Can demonstrate a minimum of three years’ relevant experience, within in a role involving Secretariat or Governance within a large*, complex organisation. (Please include dates)

*NIHE employs in excess of 3,200 staff, with 45 sites, and manages a revenue budget of circa £1.2bn

  1. Can demonstrate 3 years’ experience in all of the below areas:
  • A) Experience of managing and leading staff.
  • B) Experience of providing meeting support to senior management and/or Board and committees including minute taking and provision of governance advice.
  • C) Experience of drafting reports for senior management
  • 4. Candidates must possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full

Desirable Criteria

  • 1. Knowledge and experience of working with other Government Departments or in the public sector.
  • 2. Hold, or are currently working towards, a post graduate qualification or a recognised Governance qualification.
