We are looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Gara Rock Hotel, a stunning coastal retreat known for its fresh, seasonal food and exceptional guest experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef to work in a unique seaside setting and play a key role in delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.
Salary & Benefits:
- £40,000 per year salary
- Approx. £4,000 per year in service charge (paid monthly)
- 48-hour working week

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef and senior sous chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team to maintain high standards
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Assist with menu development, focusing on fresh, seasonal produce
- Maintain food hygiene and health & safety standards at all times
- Manage stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
- Step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up
- Passion for fresh, seasonal food and attention to detail
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen
