We are recruiting a full-time Conveyancing Solicitor or CILEx to join our Residential Conveyancing team in Thornbury. We focus on high-quality service over quantity of transactions and do not have a high volume business model. Our team has established connections with local estate agents, and we are therefore looking for someone who is engaged and confident with networking and other marketing/business development activities.
The wider Residential Conveyancing team is among the biggest in Bristol, spanning four of our five offices.
- Reviewing compliance documentation and analysing the source of funds evidence for AML.
- Assessing the quality of work undertaken.
- Drafting or considering contract packages.
- Drafting title, mortgage and search reports.
- Acting for mortgage lenders.
- Maintaining adequate and up-to-date knowledge of the law and practice.
- Giving undertakings in the approved form in conveyancing matters.
- Participation in marketing activities, whether on a firm-wide, departmental or office basis.
- Preparation of bills of costs, completion statements, exchanging contracts and obtaining the approval of Accounts for bills.
- Obtaining payment on account from clients.
- Notifying Accounts of incoming telegraphic transfers.
- Requesting the transfer of money between client accounts and the office account.

Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer.
- Have a Law degree, or hold a CILEx Professional Qualification (CPQ).
- Be enthusiastic about marketing and business development, in particular, social media and networking.
Full-time (office hours are 9am-5.15pm, Monday to Friday). Part-time applicants considered. Based at our Thornbury office, although there is flexibility to work at either our Bishopston (Gloucester Road) or Bedminster offices. You will have the option to apply for hybrid working post-probation.
