AWE is looking for a Radiation Protection Adviser for the Defence Radiation Protection Services (DRPS) Group which provides UK Defence and Security with ionising and non-ionising radiation protection advice. The DRPS Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Body is formally recognised as competent by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) under the provisions of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17).
As a Radiation Protection Adviser appointed to the body your responsibilities may include:
- Medical Physics Expert Advice
- Providing support to MOD in writing and reviewing Radiation Protection and Safety Policy
- Environmental Services, including Radioactive Waste Advice
- Design and Delivery of Radiation Protection & Operational Training
You will need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
