Technical Field Sales Executive North & Central Scotland (field based) Salary £35,000 + c£12,000 Bonus + Company Vehicle
Our client is an award-winning company who are recognised as specialists in their field and supply into welding, fabrication, manufacturing, and engineering industries. As a result of growth, they are recruiting for an experienced and commercially driven External Sales professional to account manage and grow an established territory across North and Central Scotland.
This is a field-based role focused on developing long-term customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, and supporting industrial customers across fabrication, welding, manufacturing, and engineering environments. The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with customers on site and on shop floors, combining strong relationship-building skills with a practical understanding of mechanical or industrial environments. Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop a mature existing customer base across North and Central Scotland
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive field sales activity
- Conduct regular customer visits to workshops, fabrication facilities, manufacturing sites, and industrial environments
- Build strong working relationships with customers and understand operational requirements
- Recommend suitable products and solutions based on customer needs
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and follow-up activity
- Work closely with internal sales and operational teams to deliver high levels of customer service
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline management
- Represent the business professionally across all customer interactions
- Proven track record in external or field-based B2B sales
- Background within mechanical, fabrication, industrial, engineering, or manufacturing sectors
- Comfortable working within shop floor and industrial site environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage a field-based territory independently and effectively
- Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines
- Self-motivated, organised, and commercially focused
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout North and Central Scotland
- Experience selling into welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering industries
- Technical or solution-led sales experience
- Familiarity with industrial equipment or capital sales
- Experience supporting demonstrations or product applications
- Existing industry network across the Scottish industrial sector
Full product and technical training will be provided, and you will have the support of an experienced leader and a great central support team.
