CNC Setter/Operator – Crewkerne, Somerset

Permanent, four roles. Salary up to £37,400 (DOE) including a 25% shift allowance on a £29,953 base pay. Working hours are rotating early/late shifts (06:00–14:00 one week, 14:00–midnight the next), 37.5 hours per week.

We are a well‑established precision engineering facility manufacturing hydraulic systems and components for industrial applications, focusing on turning. The primary machines are Citizen sliding head lathes; CNC grinding is also used.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC sliding head lathes.
  • Perform first‑off inspection and in‑process checking.
  • Make offset adjustments and perform G‑code editing as required.
  • Utilize multi‑axis setups; run and troubleshoot Fanuc‑controlled machines.
Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in turning and close‑tolerance work.
  • Experience with multi‑axis machining, first‑off inspection, offset adjustments, and G‑code editing.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc control systems is useful.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts; some flexibility on experience level is accepted.
