Our client is one of the UK's most respected military charities, with over 140 years of history supporting veterans and service leavers into meaningful civilian careers. They are looking for a qualified Management Accountant to join a small, experienced finance team at their London headquarters.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will work closely with Directors, operational managers, and the fundraising team to monitor funding streams, prepare audit-ready financial statements, and support the ongoing improvement of finance processes and systems. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two days per week at the London office. The position is initially offered on a fixed-term basis with a view to permanence for the right candidate.
What We Are Looking For
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least two years of post-qualification experience. You will be comfortable producing management accounts to a tight deadline, presenting clear narratives to non-finance stakeholders, and working with a degree of autonomy in a values-led environment. Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector is desirable, as is familiarity with Xero. A working knowledge of VAT and Gift Aid would also be an advantage.
This is a genuinely rewarding place to work for someone who wants their skills to count for something beyond the bottom line.
