Due to an increase in business we are recruiting additional Generator Service Engineer to join our Service Department. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the field of industrial diesel engines. The primary role of this position is the servicing, repairing and overhauling of diesel engines on our customers' generating sets. The role is home based, covering the North West. The role is offered with a £40K salary, plus overtime and company vehicle.
Duties:
- On site servicing of customer diesel generating sets at locations across the North West of the UK.
- Identification and diagnosis of faults and subsequent rectification and testing of equipment.
- Ability to carry out temporary repairs to keep the client operational whilst the correct parts are ordered.
- Involvement in other aspects of operations such as generator installation and fabrication work, and UPS battery build installations.
- Call Out Rota – approx 1 week in 8.
- Generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises.
- Generator Load Testing.
- Generator commissioning.
- Generator fault finding.
- Basic Generator electrical repairs.
- Attendance of Factory Training Courses if required.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Min 5 years experience working in the diesel generator field.
- City & Guilds / NVQ in engineering.
- Generator Engine Controller Knowledge is a must.
- Knowledge of a variety of manufacturer’s equipment.
- Manufacturers Training Courses would be an advantage.
- Ability to work as a team player and also unsupervised.
- Clean Driving Licence.
