CNC Punch Press & Press Brake Operator

A well-established sheet metal manufacturer based in Biggleswade is looking for a skilled CNC Punch Press and Press Brake Operator to join the production team on a permanent basis. The business supplies bespoke steel fabrications to government, defence and commercial clients, and has a strong track record of long-term employment.
Pay is £19 to £21 per hour depending on experience, with overtime available on top.
The role
You will be setting up, programming and operating a Trumpf 1000 CNC Punch Machine as well as setting and running CNC Press Brakes to produce sheet metal components to customer specifications. Day-to-day you will be reading engineering drawings, selecting and changing tooling, carrying out first-off and in-process quality checks, and keeping your machine and work area in good order.
What you need
- Proven hands-on experience with ideally a Trumpf 1000 CNC Punch Press, as is the ability to set and operate a CNC Press Brake.
- You will need to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently and have a solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication and quality control.
Nice to have
- Experience with Trumpf programming software, a forklift licence, or a background in fast-paced manufacturing would all be advantages.
