A well-established precision engineering facility in Crewkerne is looking for four CNC Setter/Operators on a permanent basis. The business manufactures hydraulic systems and components for industrial applications — precision work, close tolerances, proper machining.
The focus is turning. Citizen sliding head lathes are the primary machines, with CNC grinding also in the mix. If you’ve spent most of your time on lathes rather than mills, this is worth reading. Milling experience isn’t the priority here.
Multi-axis experience, first-off inspection, in-process checking, offset adjustments, G-code editing when needed. Fanuc control knowledge is useful.
Rotating early/late shifts — 06:00–14:00 one week, 14:00–midnight the next. 37.5 hours. Base salary up to £29,953 depending on experience, with a 25% shift allowance on top.
Because they’re recruiting four people at once, there’s some flexibility on experience level and what they’ll pay. If you’re strong on turning and close-tolerance work, it’s worth a conversation even if you don’t tick every box.
Commutable from Yeovil, Chard, Dorchester and surrounding areas. If this sounds like your kind of work, get in touch.
