We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to join the Safety, Health, Environment & Chemistry (SHEC) team as a SHE Apprentice at Grain Power Station. This is a structured 3-year apprenticeship programme combining academic learning with practical experience in a high-hazard, regulated power generation environment.
Your responsibilities
- The apprentice will undertake a recognised SHE-related qualification supported by on-the-job training, mentoring, and exposure to operational activities and governance processes, as well as an IOSH accredited Safety, health and environment technician level 3 apprenticeship.
- Support implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Assist with compliance against UK legislation (HSWA, PUWER, WAHR, COSHH, CDM)
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Assist incident reporting and investigation
- Support contractor safety governance and assurance
- Assist environmental monitoring and compliance
- Support audits, inspections and assurance activities
- Assist with inductions and SHE communications
- Maintain registers and compliance trackers
