Responsible for the second line oversight of all financial risks with particular focus on capital, liquidity & funding and market risks.
Ensuring that the framework for managing financial risk is robust and being adhered to at all times.
Assisting the CRO in the maintenance and embedding of risk management practices, including the Risk Management Framework, whilst remaining abreast of all relevant prudential and financial regulatory developments, applying these to the Society as required to ensure compliance.

Role Requirements:- Ideally educated to degree level within a numeric/business discipline.
- Expert knowledge of financial risks including capital, liquidity, funding and market risks.
- Thorough understanding of financial products offered in the UK retail market and their implications for financial risks.
- Thorough knowledge of key regulation in respect of prudential risk.
- Experience of producing or providing oversight of ICAAPs, ILAAPs and recovery plans.
- Professional standards in relation to report writing are essential.
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation, including Board.
- Able to explain the technical and complex in simple language.
- Ability to work well under pressure by managing multiple and complex activities.
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills required.
- Data analysis skills are essential to be able to quantify risk exposures.
