The Role

We’re supporting the delivery of major power and critical infrastructure projects and are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial ownership of live workstreams. You’ll be embedded within the project team, managing projects commercially from early procurement through to final account. This is a hands-on delivery role, suited to someone who enjoys being close to site and owning outcomes end-to-end.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking full commercial ownership from contract award through to final account
  • Leading subcontract procurement, negotiation, and commercial onboarding
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments, and close-out
  • Preparing and submitting client applications and valuations
  • Owning cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting
  • Managing variations, claims, and commercial change
  • Supporting programme recovery and commercial performance
  • Identifying and managing commercial risk and opportunity
  • Working closely with Project Managers and Engineers
  • Supporting and mentoring junior QSs where required

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience running large construction or infrastructure projects commercially
  • Strong background in subcontract management
  • Experience delivering £20m+ projects or major packages end-to-end
  • Full final account experience on both client and subcontract side
  • Strong cost control, forecasting, and reporting capability
  • Confident managing variations, claims, and commercial change
  • Comfortable running multiple packages or workstreams in parallel
  • Commercially sharp, delivery-focused approach
  • Strong Excel and commercial reporting skills
  • Experience in power, critical infrastructure, or complex engineering environments is a plus
