We are seeking a highly skilled Experience Designer (XD) to support a leading technology company on a significant Public Sector programme. This is a long-term contract opportunity, ideal for a UX specialist passionate about user-centred design and experienced in working on complex, high-impact digital services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to design intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly services for citizens and internal stakeholders. Your input will help shape how services are designed, built, and delivered, ensuring they meet the needs of users and the objectives of the public sector client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of user experiences across digital platforms and services.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Translate insights and requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, content designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design throughout the service lifecycle.
  • Design and contribute to service blueprints, user journey maps, and interaction patterns.
  • Present designs and concepts to stakeholders, including government clients.
  • Work within agile teams to iterate and improve designs based on user feedback and analytics.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as an Experience Designer or UX Designer in complex environments.

  • Proficiency in using design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be UK-based and able to pass SC-level security clearance.
  • Prior experience working on public sector or government digital services.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery frameworks and multidisciplinary team environments.
