Salary: Up to £47,500 + Overtime + Call Out + Excellent Benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering team based at an office in Camden. This is a static role working across a single commercial office building, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical building services equipment. Working within a team of three engineers, you'll be based on-site alongside the client, making this a highly client-facing position. We're looking for a mechanically biased engineer with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a desire to continue developing their technical knowledge.

Working Hours

  • Rotating shifts of 7:00am-4:00pm and 9:00am-6:00pm.
  • Alternate Friday 3:00pm finish during the summer months.
  • Call out rota of 1 in 3 - £200 weekly call out retainer/ minimum four hours paid for every call out.
  • Regular overtime opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across mechanical building services plant.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Maintain AHUs, FCUs and VAV systems.
  • Service and maintain calorifiers and domestic water systems.
  • Monitor water treatment systems.
  • Complete basic plumbing repairs including taps, toilets and associated pipework.
  • Carry out minor building fabric repairs when required.
  • Provide first response to catering equipment issues before specialist contractors attend.
  • Complete statutory compliance checks and maintenance records.
  • Liaise directly with the client, providing a professional and customer-focused service.
  • Assist with plant upgrades and future refurbishment projects.
  • Support the wider engineering team to ensure the smooth operation of the building.

Requirements

  • City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing.
  • Previous experience within commercial building services maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding ability.
  • Plumbing experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit engineering team.
