About Us

Emperor is a leading, full service corporate communications agency. Proudly independent and with a long heritage of nearly 30 years we are well known in the world of reporting but now in London over 50% of our work is in other areas. These include brand, employee engagement, campaigns, digital (including websites) and moving image and content production. We have a wide range of mainly B2B clients – ranging from large FTSE 100 clients to smaller clients such as regional law firms.

What makes Emperor a great place to work springs from the fact that we are employee-owned. This means employees have a strong voice in how we are run. We have retained our commitment to hybrid working and flexible working hours. Our culture is fair and based on trust, with a good work and home balance.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive New Business Outreach Executive to bolster the growth of our communications consultancy. While our core specialism is corporate reporting, this role will also support broader propositions, including employee engagement, digital and sustainability.

In this role, you will be working under the guidance of the New Business Director and taking responsibility for executing an established new business strategy and plan. This is a hands-on role focused on outbound activity, which includes identifying and building prospect lists, conducting both cold and warm outreach and managing outreach campaigns.

Success in this role will be defined by the ability to identify and target the right prospects and to translate the outreach activity into valuable client meetings and engagement at events.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Execute outbound new business activity in line with the agreed strategy and KPIs
  • Conduct cold outreach via email and phone to senior decision-makers
  • Research, build and maintain targeted prospect lists across relevant sectors
  • Qualify leads and seek to secure introductory meetings for the New Business Director and Proposition Leads
  • Support follow-up activity and nurture prospects through the early stages of the pipeline
  • Maintain accurate records of all outreach activity, responses and outcomes – using Pipedrive to make this tracking and reporting easier and working with outreach execs in other regions
  • Always seek to refine messaging and targeting to improve responses and outcomes – track trends and themes to enable this
  • Build in-depth knowledge of our prospects and identify new ways to engage with different stakeholders in the same organisation
  • Help convert prospects into clients across corporate reporting, digital, employee engagement and sustainability
  • Track the success of your outreach, so we know how to adapt and build

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • Proven experience in new business development, outreach or sales within professional services, communications, consultancy or agency environments
  • Demonstrate confidence and credibility in cold calling and cold emailing senior stakeholders. You will enjoy this type of outreach and relish the opportunity to speak to new people
  • Strong research skills and ability to identify and prioritise high-quality prospects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working to KPIs/targets and managing outreach activity independently
  • Professional, credible and a positive ambassador for the consultancy

It’s a bonus if you have:

  • Experience managing outreach campaigns using a CRM system (Pipedrive)
  • Ideally, you have some experience working in a creative or communications consultancy setting
